Naples Florida: Home watch season is about to start, are you prepared?

Season is winding down and we are delighted that Seasonal Residents are trusting their homes to Your Home Watch Professionals.  We are welcoming many new clients who have had a bad experience in the past.  Here are a few stories:

A couple was unable to come to their condo for two years due to an illness.  The person, who said they were conducting home watch visits, did not do a very good job.  The home owners arrived to discover that their air conditioner was not working, and may not have been, for 6 months to a year.  They had a lot of damage and spent several weeks cleaning it up.  The HVAC system had to be replaced.  There was a lot of work and expense that should have been avoided.

Another has a condo on the beach and enlisted the services of the janitor to make visits.  The cleaner called them to say their home was covered in mold.  I was brought on after the fact and assisted with the remediation and insurance claim.  It cost over $35,000 for the clean up and took 7 months for the claim to be settled.  I am now happy to be their home watch provider.

How about the home owner who had a friend look after their place?  He let the contractors in to do some work but must have never come back to make sure the house was OK.  It was not:  the lanai door was left open and a family of palm rats moved in!
